ABC Family is developing a TV show based on The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, the 1992 thriller. According to THR, Supernatural’s Daniel Loflin will write and executive produce the adaptation. The movie starred Rebecca De Mornay as a woman whose doctor husband killed himself after being accused of misconduct; she vows revenge on the woman who brought the allegations, and figures the best way to do that is to become her nanny, seduce her husband, and murder her. ABC Family does pretty well with murder shows, between its flagship Pretty Little Liars, that show’s spinoff Ravenswood, and Twisted, because apparently teens love murder.
