Anything is possible au Cabaret! Alan Cumming sat down with Conan O'Brien on Monday, Oct. 20, where he was asked about a particular incident from June involving Shia LaBeouf.

"You reprised your role and it's this big deal," the late-night host, 51, noted to the beloved thespian, 49, who has now played the muscial's emcee in three productions over 21 years. "And then one night, Shia LaBeouf gets arrested at the show. I just want to hear from you what the hell happened." (LaBeouf was thrown into jail after disturbing a performance of Cumming and Michelle Williams' Broadway production.)

Cumming, smiling and recollecting the incident, said: "Well, he was really messed up and obviously, he did that and apologized. He was just wasted, and he was wasted from the second he walked into the [theater]. There was an atmosphere because somebody seemed to be a crazy person."

Added O'Brien: "There was a LaBeouf quality to the air."

The most memorable moment from the incident was when LaBeouf slapped Cumming's behind. "I walk into the audience and go up the back and come down. And as I walked past him, he whacked me," said the actor. "And then other things. He was smoking… We've all done things where we've messed up, and not everybody has to deal with it on such a worldwide scale."

Still, Cumming said he forgives the Fury star for smacking his behind. "Apparently I was the sexiest man he had ever seen," he joked.

LaBeouf ultimately got arrested for disturbing the performance. His rep later told Us Weekly that the star was seeking treatment for alcoholism. The former Disney star pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct related to his Cabaret arrest last month.

A more levelheaded LaBeouf attempted to explain his actions while speaking to Ellen DeGeneres on Oct. 10. "I went through this existential crisis," he said. "Which turned into like, explorations. I had some hiccups, some judgment errors."
